IGCSE Maths tutoring

How much does online IGCSE Maths tutoring cost

The useful answer to an IGCSE Maths tutoring price question includes three things: the lesson length, what support it covers and the total commitment. A session advertised at a small amount can cost more over a month if the recommended frequency is higher or essential feedback is charged separately.

At OTA Learning Studio, we confirm fees privately after discussing the learner's course and needs. Our free parent consultation is the place to ask about online lessons, suitable times and class packages. There is no published universal IGCSE rate on this page, and the conversation does not oblige you to book.

Begin with the qualification you are paying to support

Bring the exam board, syllabus code, tier and examination year. A Cambridge Extended student preparing for non-calculator work needs a different starting plan from an Edexcel learner who cannot interpret algebraic graphs. Both are studying IGCSE Maths; their immediate teaching needs differ.

The Cambridge Mathematics 0580 qualification page is an official reference for that course. Confirm other qualifications with the school rather than choosing materials from the course name alone. A price comparison is meaningful only when the tutor can support the actual entry.

Ask what the session includes

Find out who teaches, how the student shows working and whether the quoted time is individual teaching. A recorded explanation, a shared group session and a live individual lesson are different services, even if each is called online tutoring.

For example, a learner writes (x + 3)² as x² + 9. Useful teaching explores the missing cross term, checks the expansion and gives a changed example. Ask whether reviewing that independent attempt is included or whether the package covers only live contact.

Resources matter when they are selected for a reason. Hundreds of downloadable questions do not establish value if nobody investigates which misconception the learner needs to repair.

Work out the commitment over a clear period

Write down the session fee, number of sessions and period covered. Four weekly appointments and a calendar month's bookings are not always the same thing. Ask how holidays, unavailable dates and rescheduling are handled before paying.

If a package is offered, establish how many lessons it contains and whether they must be used within a particular period. Do not assume a package carries a discount or extra services; ask for its actual terms. The smallest upfront bill is not necessarily the most suitable arrangement.

Comparing an hourly equivalent can help when durations differ. Still consider whether the proposed session length allows the learner to participate thoughtfully rather than simply selecting the longest appointment available.

Pay for a useful sequence of teaching

A parent might reasonably want a first priority such as solving equations involving brackets or interpreting a cumulative frequency graph. The tutor should explain how that priority was chosen and how it will be checked.

Our guide to an online IGCSE Maths lesson illustrates how explanation can lead into independent attempts. That connection matters more than a promise to cover everything quickly. A shorter, well-focused plan can be more appropriate than a large commitment without clear goals.

Ask what information you will receive when the plan is reviewed. You should be able to understand what the learner now does more independently and which difficulty still needs attention.

Request the quote with the right information

Tell us the student's year or grade, board, tier, time zone and intended exam session. A recent question with the student's working is useful, but you do not need a complete assessment file before enquiring.

We can discuss the teaching focus, available lesson arrangements and fee before paid Google Meet sessions begin. Confirm payment and cancellation terms as part of that decision. The aim is to choose support you understand and can sustain, with a clear reason for each lesson rather than a package purchased simply because exams are approaching.

Keep the momentum going. A simple, consistent routine can make returning to school feel much more manageable.

Support that begins with the learner’s real needs.

Lessons are personalised, international and designed to build understanding as well as confidence.
